A Developmental Pathway for Achieving Promise Neighborhoods Results, the Promise Neighborhoods Institute at PolicyLink‘s (PNI) newest publication, explains the crucial developmental milestones for implementing and charting progress towards the Promise Neighborhoods vision.
This important tool was developed to help Promise Neighborhood communities and the field at large better understand the external conditions and developmental milestones that are needed to build the cradle to career continuum and to achieve the goals/outcomes set forth in Promise Neighborhoods. The tool illustrates the developmental pathways necessary to achieve the Promise Neighborhoods vision.
There are five critical developmental stages to building a cradle-to-career pipeline: planning, early implementation, full implementation, reaching scale, and sustaining results. This guide provides a visual representation of these developmental stages couched under the seven capacities that are necessary for the achievement of results: 1) Data Use, 2) Partnership, 3) Engagement, 4) Financing, 5) Policy & Systems, 6) Communications, and 7) Organization and Leadership Capacity; The tool thereby sets forth benchmarks of what communities implementing a Promise Neighborhoods strategy might expect to see as they progress in building out their continuum of solutions.
Communities advancing a Promise Neighborhoods strategy can use this guide to: 1) benchmark areas for future planning; 2) track their developmental progress; 3) identify technical assistance priorities; and 4) communicate expectations to residents, partners, and funders.
